چکیده
Reversibility of phase transformation, a basic requirement for functional properties shape memory alloys, such as superelasticity, is severely affected by plastic deformation. Here, strain glass has been utilized to improve the reversibility transformation. The incorporation Al into Ti-Zr-Ni-Cu induces and endows alloy with reversible transformation thus ideal superelasticity. In situ x-ray diffraction dynamic mechanical experiments were verify mechanism conversion from plasticity This work provides new way expands practical implications glass.

Fracture toughness and fatigue-crack propagation in a Zr–Ti–Ni–Cu–Be bulk metallic glass
The recent development of metallic alloy systems which can be processed with an amorphous structure over large dimensions, specifically to form metallic glasses at low cooling rates ~;10 K/s!, has permitted novel measurements of important mechanical properties. These include, for example, fatigue-crack growth and fracture toughness behavior, representing the conditions governing the subcritical...
متن کاملFormation of Ti-Zr-Cu-Ni bulk metallic glasses
Formation of bulk metallic glass in quaternary Ti-Zr-Cu-Ni alloys by relatively slow cooling from the melt is reported. Thick strips of metallic glass were obtained by the method of metal mold casting. The glass forming ability of the quaternary alloys exceeds that of binary or ternary alloys containing the same elements due to the complexity of the system. The best glass forming alloys such as...

The structural origins for the high plasticity of a Zr53Cu18.7Ni12Al16.3 (at.%) bulk metallic glass are explored. Under plastic flow conditions, in situ synchrotron high-energy X-ray diffraction reveals that the atomic strain saturates to the closest packing in the longitudinal direction of the applied load while atoms yield in the transverse plane. Scanning electron microscopy investigation re...
متن کاملMicrostructural evolution of body-centered cubic structure related Ti–Zr–Ni phases in non-stoichiometric Zr-based Zr–Ti–Mn–V–Ni hydride electrode alloys
Non-stoichiometric Zr-based alloys were prepared, and the corresponding electrochemical properties were characterized as hydride electrode alloys. The microstructure and chemical composition of non-stoichiometric Zr–Ti–Mn–V–Ni hydride electrode alloys were systematically investigated by x-ray Rietveld refinement, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and energy dispersive spectroscopy under T...
